It never even crossed my mind that I would be seeing The Alps. The only thing I did know, was that we were seeing a castle that helped inspire Disney!
Fast forward to sitting in the coach oblivious to the world and boom, over the hills and trees appear The Alps. I was speechless. The sun was out, we were in beautiful countryside Germany and the blooming Alps were appearing with the castle in the distance.
I’ve never even had these mountains on my ‘to see’ list but my oh my have I changed that. I am now dying to see them up a lot closer, we only got a small taste of them.
There is something so soothing about seeing mountains. It’s the same sort of feeling I get when I’m at the seaside. You feel refreshed, closer to nature and feel the magnitude and significance that the Earth has on you.
As an Earth element I also feel refreshed when I am close to something as great as a mountain or forest. So this day with the sun on my back I ended up being on cloud nine.
Neuschwanstein Castle itself was breathtaking. Even just from the outside you could see how much the King who built it lived in fairy land. It’s a romanticized fantasy castle indeed.
Inside is like stepping into another world. Photos aren’t allowed so you’ll have to take my word for it or go see for yourself. It is filled with so much art based on fairy tales, plays and myths.
This day will last as one of my favourites in my memory. If you are ever traveling to Germany and want to see this castle please go ahead and do it.
