2016 List | Books

A goal from last year was to read more. While it doesn’t look like much to keen readers I did a lot more than the past two before. Even though I buy more books than I can place in my room it still takes my mind a while to delve into it. I decided I want to up the game a bit this year which will also justify all the books that I seem to keep buying.

2015 | Yesterday you would’ve seen this post HERE. I was happy that I started to gain the momentum for reading back however as 2015 was kind of a hard year for me I didn’t have enough love in me to pick books up.

2016 | To start off the list I am listing what I already have on my bookshelves. I think it will be better to start with what I already own rather then with books I have to go out and buy. I am aiming to finish all of these this year plus ones that you all suggest, ones I don’t own and books that just catch my eye!

New books | Books I own but haven’t gotten a chance to read yet;
-‘You deserve a drink’ by Mamrie Hart
-‘Peter Pan’ by J.M. Barrie (Yes, sue me I rave about how much I love Peter but haven’t read the book, so what? haha)
-‘Binge’ by Tyler Oakley
-‘Gone Girl’ by Gillian Flynn
-‘Emma’ by Jane Austin
-‘My week with Marilyn’ by Colin Clark
-‘The fictional woman’ by Tara Moss
-‘Why not me?’ by Mindy Kaling
-‘Anonymous lawyer’ by Jeremy Blachman
-‘The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
-‘The little princess’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett
-‘Eat, Pray, Love’ by Elizabeth Gilbert
-‘A work in progress’ by Connor Franta

I think I have a good selection going on here. Broad enough to capture different genres and familiar enough to get the start I need to start reading. I will probably start with the Bio’s first as I am finding them easier to get into these days.

Re-Reads | I wanna visit old loved books as well this year I will start with;
-‘Harry Potter’ by J.K Rowling. I think it is finally time to re-visit from the start and re-connect with these characters and the world I so fell in love with.
-‘The Night Circus’ by Erin Morgenstern. My favourite book of all time. I want to relive the circus that took my breathe away. This book was like reading a dream that came to life. I will always love it.
-‘The Secret Garden’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett. My childhood favourite that I try to read every year.
-‘Will Grayson, Will Grayson’ by John Green and David Levithan. I want to re-visit an old John Green favourite. I may also re-read ‘Paper Towns’ as well.
-‘The simple gift’ by Steven Herrick. An old high school favourite.

I have always struggled with re-reading and I want to change that as I loved these books so dearly. 2016 may just be the right time!

So there we have it! The starting list for books to read this 2016. We I succeed or fail? Time will only tell. I hope I do succeed and read more than the 18 books listed above.

Let me know of any books I should add to the list! What are your favourite books?

Love Always,
